The Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College moved toward becoming Aligarh Muslim University in 1920. The main grounds of AMU stands in the city of Aligarh which spreads across 467.6 hectares of land. AMU offers more than 300 courses to students in both customary and modern-day branches of instruction. The college involves all positions, statements of faith, religions, and sexual orientations, and is an Institute of National Importance given under the Seventh Schedule of the Constitution at its beginning. The University was set up as Madrasatul Uloom Musalmanan-e-Hind in 1875. The school began on 24 May 1875. The Anglo– Indian statesman Syed Ahmad Khan established the ancestor of AMU, the Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College, in 1875 having officially settled two schools. The development of Muslim arousing, related with Syed Ahmad Khan and the M.A.O. School came to be known as the Aligarh Movement. He considered competence in English and “Western sciences” essential abilities for keeping up Muslims’ political impact, specifically in Northern India. Khan’s imagination for the school depended on his visit to Oxford and Cambridge, and he needed to formulate a training framework like the British model.
