Karnataka Polytechnic Admission 2019 has been organized by Directorate of Technical Education, Karnataka. It is a state level exam aimed at inviting applications for engineering diploma courses in various government /private/self aided government colleges. Eligibility Criteria

Karnataka Polytechnic Admission 2019

The official notification for the process of Karnataka Polytechnic Admission 2019 will be issued by The Directorate of Technical Education, Karnataka. The admission notification will be published in newspapers and on the official website also. The release of notification for admission is expected in the month of July 2019. Candidates should check the official website of Karnataka Polytechnic admission regularly.

Selection procedure of Karnataka Polytechnic admission:

  • Merit list of candidates will be generated by DTE.
  • Merit list will be created on the basis of 10th board exam marks.
  • Candidates are provided admission on the basis of marks obtained by them in SSLC exam or any other equivalent exam from recognized board.
  • Candidates can choose their seats in various branches of different colleges according to their preferences.
  • Various Polytechnic Institutes in the state offer admission to students based on their marks obtained in SSLC exam or another equivalent exam.
  • Based on the merit list, 50% seats will be filled up by the non-reserved category of the students and other 50% seats will be reserved for various categories that fall under a reserved quota in Karnataka state.
  • Verified and relevant documents are necessary to confirm the admission in various polytechnic institutes.
  • Candidates are advised to keep their application form and receipt of bank challan with them till the admission procedure completes.

Selection process 

The admissions through Karnataka DTE 2019 will be carried out strictly on merit basis. The eligible applicants will be selected based on the marks obtained in 10th standard or equivalent examination. The Directorate to Technical Education, Karnataka will prepare a separate merit list based on which 50% seats will be allotted to the applicants who have passed the secondary or equivalent examination. The rest 50% seats will be divided into different groups of society.

Counseling & Seat Allotment

The procedure of counseling and allotment of seats will be carried out once the application process will be over. The counseling will start in the month of July 2019 tentatively. The applicants can apply their preferences of colleges during application form filling but the selections will be made strictly based on the number of available seats. The allotment of seats will be done as mentioned below-

  • The basic criteria for seat allocation are the marks obtained in secondary or equivalent examination by the applicants.
  • The examination authority will prepare merit list as per the marks obtained by the applicants in the secondary or equivalent examination.
  • The seat allocation will also depend on the number of seats available.
  • The 50% seats out of 100% will be allocated to the applicants passed 10th standard or equivalent exam and the rest 50% will be reserved for the different group of society involved.
  • The applicants have to present the required documents during counseling for verification. The documents needed for verification are-
  • Mark sheet/ Passing certificate of secondary or equivalent exam
